Is This a Dating Service?
We are not a dating service, we are a social club for singles between
the ages of 35-65. We provide events from dining and cocktail events to
outdoor events and theater events that provide an ambiance conducive to
meeting other single professionals. We provide you the opportunity to
meet upscale singles in a classy, comfortable environment ? the rest is

How Do I Join?
You can join in one of four ways: 1) Click on the Join Us section of this
website and complete the information 2) Fill out the membership form on
the brochure that you can download under the About Us section of this
website and mail it with your check or credit card number to: Atlanta's

Why do people join Atlanta's Upscale Singles?
People have different reasons for joining a singles organization; however,
most people join to meet other upscale single professionals in a non-intimidating
and relaxed atmosphere and to add some pizzazz to their social lives!

What Characteristics do members share?
Age: Our members range from 38-68 with the core of our membership in the
40?s and 50?s. Careers: Members are engaged in businesses and professions
from doctors, teachers, professors, nurses, paralegal's, judges, administrators,
financial advisors, pilots, accountants, and business owners to retailers,
sales and marketing professionals, engineers, therapists and computer

What Does Membership Cost?
Membership is $600 to join, payable at the time a membership commences.
Members may attend as many events as they wish. Membership runs for a
full year from the date you join and renews at the rate of $195 per year.

Does the annual membership fee include events?
No. Events are charged separately and are usually between $10 and $85.
Depending on the venue and what's offered, dining events typically run
between $35-$85; cocktail parties $10-$15; and wine tasting's $25-$50.
Fees for special events such as theatre, sporting events and travel will
vary. Alcohol may be purchased separately at all events unless otherwise
noted in our event description. Reservations made more than two weeks
in advance of event will receive a discount - see individual event for

What do I get for my membership?
We put a lot of time and effort into creating wonderful events where you
can enjoy yourself and at the same time, meet a great group of single
people in your age range. Plus, the annual membership fee gets you member
pricing on events, invitations to hard to get theater and concert tickets,
benefits offered to members by venues throughout the city, access to our
member-only section of our website where members post their email addresses
and our directory where members post pictures and areas of interest. Back

How many events may I attend each month?
Members may attend as many events as they wish on a space-available basis.

Can I do some business networking?
Definitely. What you do is part of who you are and business networking

Can non-members participate in Atlanta's Upscale Singles?
Yes. We now allow guests to attend two Atlanta's Upscale Singles' events
before they must join to continue participating. Back Top
Can I attend events by myself?
Absolutely, most people do. This is your opportunity to meet other single
professionals and we make it easy for you. We're at the door to greet
you, help you meet others and help you feel comfortable. Back

I've never done anything like this before.
Most of our members haven't before they joined Atlanta's Upscale Singles.
And almost everyone is nervous the first time. The first time is always
the hardest, but we?re there to make you feel comfortable and welcome
and our members are terrific single people who remember what it was like
to come to their first event, and they'll go out of their way to help

What do events cost?
Depending on the venue and what's offered, dining events typically run
between $35-$85; cocktail parties $10-$15 for members; Wine Parties $28-$48
for members. Special events, theater events, etc. vary depending on the
price of tickets, etc. involved. Alcohol is purchased separately and individually
at all events unless otherwise noted in our event description. Back

Why aren't alcoholic beverages always included?
There are so many varying tastes in alcoholic beverages that we find our
members prefer to choose and purchase their own drinks, or opt not to
drink. At special events like Martini Parties or Wine Parties ? alcohol
is part of the all-inclusive price. Our monthly newsletter describes each
event and what is included for that particular event. It will be easy
to find events that are just right for you! Back Top
How do I make a reservation?
Each month, members receive a newsletter via mail or email that details
the month?s events and gives a sneak preview of the events for the upcoming
months. Members choose the events they want to attend and either fax or
mail the reservation form to us, register via the website or email, or
call us with their reservation. Once reservations are made and paid, all
you have to do is show up at the appointed time and place, we do the rest!

When do events occur?
Each month we offer some events during the weekends and some on weekday
nights to accommodate the different schedules of our many members. Back

How does a typical event unfold?
A typical dining event offers 2-3 opportunities for you to meet new friends.
The first 30-45 minutes of a dining event are set aside for our mix and
mingle time. When you arrive, you will be greeted, give a nametag and
introduced to other attending members. This is a time to exchange business
cards and get to know everyone who is at that event. At the time for dinner
seating, members move to tables. We have many fun ways of doing our seating
assignments and you? We always have a chance to get to know many people
during the evening. Our cocktail parties and wine parties are total mix
and mingle times where you have an opportunity to meet everyone there,
if that is your desire. Theater events are similar to dining events where
we have a mix and mingle time beforehand and then are taken to our seats.
Our outdoor events such as horseback riding, canoe trips, etc. offer many
opportunities to get to know your fellow members. Back

What is the mix of men and women at events?
We are in Atlanta and in an age range of 40+ the ratios are definitely
in a man?s favor. Typically, we have 1 (man):2 (women), sometimes 1:1
and occasionally 1:3 or 1:4. Ratios will vary in different age categories.
If you are looking for quality versus quantity, you will find quality
people in Atlanta's Upscale Singles. If an equal ratio (1:1) is the determining
factor for you, Atlanta's Upscale Singles might not be your best choice.

How successful is Atlanta's Upscale Singles?
Usually when we're asked that question, people mean? How many relationships
have formed from Atlanta's Upscale Singles (formerly Atlanta Single Gourmet)?
We have had 25-30 marriages (that I know of) over the last 5 years and
dating is constantly occurring and friendships constantly being formed.
Let me tell you some stories. Bob was widowed for a year when he joined,
about 7 months after joining and attending 1-2 events a month, he met
Helen. They married during Thanksgiving weekend a couple of years ago.
Paul met Leslie at a dining event in Buckhead 3 years later, they are
married. Kathleen and Jim met at an event in Decatur. He had been a member
for close to 2 years, it was her first event. Two years later, they are
to be married. Glenn Leidich met Terri Lee, Executive Director and Owner
of Atlanta's Upscale Singles when he joined in 1998. They became friends
at the events and 1 years later, he asked her out. They were married in
October of 2001. And these are just a few of the many relationships that
had their beginning with our group. Back Top
What is the dress code for events?
We call it snappy casual? or business or business casual. Men wear dress
slacks and nice shirts, women wear dresses, skirts, slacks that you would
typically wear to a nice work environment or out to dinner in a nice restaurant.

Wonderfully! We? We take the planning out of any free time you have. Just
